The way most employees work has changed radically in recent years, and companies have tried to offer as many options as possible when it comes to working from the office, given that the freedom offered to people has a positive impact on their well-being. Currently, more than 75% of Romanians work from the office at least 3 days a week, according to a Genesis Property survey conducted in April-May 2025 on a nationally representative sample of 1,012 respondents. Moreover, nearly 60% say that schedule flexibility gives them a sense of well-being and has a positive effect by providing more control and balance in their lives.
The ability to work from anywhere, a flexible schedule, and more time for family and personal activities are the main advantages of this working style, which involves alternating between remote and office work days.
“Flexibility is no longer a luxury or an “extra” benefit, it has become part of the way we live and work. Moreover, people are no longer just looking for a beautifully designed office; they want a space where they feel seen, valued, able to collaborate honestly, and where their work feels meaningful. When you give them the freedom to set their own pace based on who they are and how they work best, they return with greater clarity, real energy, and ideas that truly add value. In the end, true performance is measured by the trust you cultivate and the growth space you create for each person on the team”, said Elena Panait, Head of Leasing & ComYunitY.

If given complete freedom to choose their way of working, nearly 80% of respondents would opt either for working from the office full-time or for a hybrid model that includes at least 1-2 days a week at the office. Almost 70% of participants say they face certain challenges with their current way of working, the most frequently mentioned being the lack of adequate resources (technology, workspace) and difficulties in separating work from personal life.
In hybrid or remote work models, employees say they are more motivated to come to the office more often due to a clear separation between work and personal life (41.68%), interaction with colleagues (38.94%), and a more suitable environment for focus and productivity (29.94%). At the same time, over 83% of respondents say the office plays a certain role when it comes to separating personal and professional life.
Genesis Property aims, in the long term, to complete the final stage of YUNITY Park, a visionary campus designed by Liviu Tudor. The first two completed stages have attracted investments of over 30 million euros. The next stage, called the Innovation Center, will be inaugurated following an additional investment of 20 million euros.
The survey, conducted by Genesis Property, explored people’s preferences regarding achieving a better balance between personal and professional life. It was carried out nationwide between April and May 2025 through the iVox platform, on a total sample of 1,012 internet users from Romania. Over 45% of participants are female, and nearly 46% have a net monthly income higher than 5,000 lei.
